Conservation Initiatives
Through the Muhumuza Conservation Fund, we support various conservation projects across Uganda:
- Anti-poaching patrols in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to protect endangered mountain gorillas
- Habitat restoration projects in Queen Elizabeth National Park
- Wildlife monitoring and research programs in partnership with Uganda Wildlife Authority
- Environmental education programs for local schools
Community Involvement
We believe that local communities must benefit from tourism for conservation to be sustainable:
- Over 90% of our staff are Ugandan nationals, with most coming from communities near the national parks
- Support for community-owned tourism enterprises, including homestays and cultural experiences
- Scholarship program for students pursuing careers in conservation and tourism
- Healthcare initiatives in remote communities near wildlife areas
