Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Uganda safaris and destinations.

Booking Process

We recommend booking your safari at least 3–6 months in advance, especially during peak travel seasons (June–September and December–February). This ensures the best availability for lodges, permits (like gorilla trekking), and guides.
We accept bank transfers, credit/debit cards (Visa & Mastercard), and mobile money payments for clients within East Africa. A deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due before your safari begins.
Cancellations made 60 days or more before the safari start date are eligible for a refund, minus bank charges and any non-refundable permit fees. Cancellations made less than 60 days before departure may incur partial or full charges, depending on our partners’ policies.

Safari Preparation

A Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry into Uganda. We also recommend vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Tetanus, along with anti-malarial medication. Always consult your travel clinic for up-to-date advice.

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors, a wide-brim hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes, and a good camera. For gorilla trekking, include sturdy hiking boots, gardening gloves, and a waterproof jacket.

Yes! Uganda is known as the “Pearl of Africa” and is generally safe for visitors. Like any destination, we advise taking normal precautions—travel with reputable tour operators (like us!), follow your guide’s advice, and keep valuables secure.
